The Gredos Ibex is the largest and darkest trophy among the four subspecies of Spanish Ibex.
Its particular lyre-shaped horns and pronounced curvature make it unmistakable and majestic.
It always inhabits the highest rocky areas, where it can easily detect danger, being extremely cautious and with highly acute senses, making its hunt a true mountain experience.
Males usually travel in groups for most of the year, except during the rutting season, when they become solitary and competitive among themselves, offering a unique spectacle with their characteristic fights.
The nearest airport is Madrid, located 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from the hunting area.
Located in the Sierra de Gredos, we will stay in a cozy lodge within the same hunting area or in 4 to 5-star mountain hotels, where we can enjoy the gastronomy and typical products of the region, such as revolt potatoes, T-bone steak from Ávila, cheeses, and excellent olive oil, naturally accompanied by a good wine or beer.
The hunting areas are private and located in the best regions of the Sierra de Gredos, between the provinces of Ávila and Cáceres, with a landscape of granite rocks and rugged, steep terrain. We will hunt between 4,900 and 8,200 feet above sea level.
During the rutting season and in the spring, we will have more opportunities to find adult males, either in groups or as old solitary specimens.
Season: From August to June.
